ladies and gentlemen, we present VEP

3.May.12

We have a great new protection foam that we are using from now on in some of our pads. It is called VEP and offers a super accurate fit with supreme wearing comfort, outstanding damping capabilities and great flexibility, while providing reliable protection against penetrating objects.
Profiting from the new material technology are the Nose Dives Timo, 2nd Skins, Kneeguard Task, Kneeguard Slim, and Frag Shirt Advanced.

Soft and pre-shaped 3D protection pads adapt to your body features and anatomy through body heat, and they don’t slip either. This is achieved through our horseshoe shape, which entirely wraps your upper elbows and knees.

VEP is visco-elastic and thus, can handle multiple impacts. After an impact or shock from the outside, the protection pad returns to its original shape while retaining all of its functionality features. In case of a slow application of a force, the VEP material absorbs the impact energy through gentle cushioning, whereas in case of a crash – meaning high-velocity force effect – the foam yields only slightly. Why? Because the air in the cell structure remains locked in within the foam and thus, cannot escape so quickly. This is how a relatively thin and extremely lightweight material like VEP offers premium damping performance. Plus, VEP reacts without time delays in order to minimize strain on the body.

VEP’s 10 years lifespan is considerably longer than the one of other foam pads. And VEP can handle temperatures of up to 120°C, guaranteeing optimum protection even when your equipment is left in the car behind the rear window.

In order to prevent sharp stones or other objects from penetrating the foam in case of a fall, we use an additional elastic synthetic insert for all VEP pads. The insert is extremely flexible to avoid a limitation of the soft protector’s mobility. The synthetic insert is Velcro-fixed onto the VEP pad and can easily be removed from all protectors which feature a removable VEP pad.

Rocket Air – Sam Pilgrim 2nd!

15.Apr.12

Thomas Genon Rocket Air 2012 Price Giving Rocket Air 2012

Rocket Air 2012, what an event! At the final on Saturday evening 15 of the worlds best riders from 7 countries performed a spectacular show on an extremely high level. The entertainment was perfect for the completely crowded ice skating rink in Thun, the spectators could witness flip and trick combos that were not even thought possible last year.

Martin Söderström from Sweden made amends for 2011 and was just able to edge out last years winner TSG’s Sam Pilgrim to take the crown. Martin laid down a run with heavy trick combos like Barspin to tailwhip or 360 double whip. But not that Sam was out of his element, Sam smashed some big 720s and Frontflips to stay well in the contest. But Martin just managed to keep his nose in front! Third after Söderström and Pilgrim was the young Frenchman Antoine Bizet, using impressive flip combinations. On a great 4th place came TSG’s Thomas Genon.

The TEVA TRICK Showdown was also a big hit with the spectators on Friday night. TSG ambassador Ramon Hunziker managed to wow the crowd with stylish 360 combos winning the FANS FAVORITE!! The BEST TRICK went to the Frenchman Yannick Granieri and the BEST STYLE award went to Martin Söderström.

Congratulation to all TSG riders! It was impressive and fun watching!

Sam Pilgrim gets the Hat Trick at Vienna Air King

3.Apr.12

Sam did it again! He won the Vienna Air King for the third time in a row.

Due to the hard weather conditions on the 1. and 2. event day, there was a slight change for the schedule. Big ease, when Vienna’s weather conditions on Sunday were acceptable for a great final. Vienna saw plenty of big names, and in the end it was the contest-dominating Sams (Pilgrim and Reynolds) from Great Britain who took the podium places, joined by Andreu Lacondeguy with a convincing performance. The extreme high trick level on the generously constructed jumps was once again prove for the awesome progression freeride mtb saw in the last years.

Sam Pilgrim made absolutely clear, that he is the ultimate factor in the dirt and slopestyle disciplines at the moment. Already in his first run, that was not to be topped by any of the 30 finalists, he showed a backflip table at the step down, followed by a backflip no hand, a 360 tailwhip, completed with a 720, that brought him the highest score of the day.

Sam Reynolds kicked a backflip at the step down, a backflip no hand, a flipwhipand finally a 360 tailwhip at the last obstacle, resulting in second place. Andreu Lacondeguy impressed the judges with a backflip from the step down, an extreme fat flipwhip, followed by a 360 flatspin at the third obstacle as well as a 360 tailwhip at the last jump.

The new season brings a new FMB World Tour

22.Mar.12

The FMB  World Tour starts into its 3rd season and sees some great new changes: amendments to rider licening, implementation of amateur rankings and athlete’s ability to access FMB World Tour events.

They are going to introduce 2 different athlete license categories: amateur (AM) and professional (PRO), helping young and upcoming riders and enable them to participate in the FMB Word Tour. Riders with AM license will be able to collect ranking points counting towards a European or North American AM ranking list.

Several steps have been taken to regulate the invitation process for FMB World Tour events, to ensure that riders are given the best opportunity to improve their ranking. Diamond and Gold events will be required to guarantee a certain amount of starting places for the the top Pro Riders. Same for Silver and Bronze event, they have to guarantee starting places for PRO and AM riders.

For more detailed information, visit http://fmbworldtour.com

Athletes can register on the FMB World Tour website: http://www.fmbworldtour.com/en/riders/rider-registration.html.

Daniel Wedemeijer bmx edit @ WUB Innsbruck

In February 2012 TSG’s Daniel Wedemeijer made his way down south from Amsterdam to Innsbruck (Austria) riding and filming at the new indoor skatepark “WUB”.  It’s definitely the most unconventional BMX video ever.

Rocket Air Slopestyle in Thun

14.Mar.12

Rocket Air is getting ready to rock the Ice rink of Thun. After two very successful years, the only FMB Silver Event in Switzerland is moving into its third year. On the 13-14th of April be prepared to witness some of the best mountain bikers from around the world come and compete for a total of 10`500- Swiss Francs in prize money. Some say that Rocket Air is “the event with the best Atmosphere” and this year is not going to be any different!! The recipe for the this “special” atmosphere involves two important ingredients, the first is the up close feeling and the second is that the course is complete surrounded by spectators, literally! Having doubled the amount of spectators last year they are looking to reach the 7000 mark with Rocket Air 2012.

We are proud to support Rocket Air since the beginning. It’s a perfect fit for us in order to promote and push slopestyle in Switzerland.

This year we also do something for the upcoming riders. At the TSG Kids Parcours the next bike generation can test and prove their abilities and most importantly have fun. Bikes in all sizes and TSG kids helmets and protection gear are available.

Watch Sam Pilgrim defending his title from last year and expect Amir Kabbani and more TSG riders to show up.
